Batam – Thursday (6/1/2011) Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) held seminar of socialization Beasiswa Unggulan from Biro Perencanaan dan Kerja Sama Luar Negeri (BPKLN) on January 4th, 2011 at Hall B. Invitees for this program, beside students and govenrment, parents also take part of this event, opened by presentation of Vice Rector III, Hepy Hefri Ariyanto, SE., MM, that explained the information about the programs, condition, facility and culture of the university, make it clear for both students and parents. This presentation intended to relieve parents’ worry for letting their students to study in Thailand as well as guarantee them about the life and safety there. Second presentation brought by BPKLN Beasiswa Unggulan Coordinator, DR. Abe Susanto explained requirement to get this scholarship also Double Degree Program. This program allows the students to study for several semesters and activities of lecturing/research and completion of final project will be done in Overseas University. After completing the study student will be rewarded 2 degrees and 2 certificates which are recognized by both university.
The International Programs of UIB classified into several programs they are: Student Exchange, Credit Transfer, Double/Joint Degree and Lecturer Program. For these programs UIB had established cooperation with several overseas universities precisely in Thailand: Raja Mangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (RMUTT), and Burapha University. Besides that the Student Exchange Programs had been annually implemented for excellent student, such as: Ship for South East ASEAN Youth Program (SSEAYP) and Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP).
The occasion was closed by the Inaguration of Students Exchange. For this year, there are 6 UIB students will depart to University in Thailand. They included in Credit Transfer Program which learn and study for several months. On January 7th, Raykall Permanah (0742064) and Agustriyani (0742060), both major in Accounting, are set off to Thailand at Burapha University. The remaining 4 students will arrive at KMUTT and RMUTT in this June 2011. In addition, there will be two students from Thailand will send to UIB. Hopefully, this activity will be a great opening for UIB to become the one of the International Colleges in Indonesia.
